IGN Readers Weigh In On Nintendo's Secret

Okay guys I know I haven't been posting as much mainly because of the time consumption of school. But just bare with me and I'll be trying to post as much as possible but keep it locked to WTR and thank you for the support.

In a recent IGN poll, readers were asked what they thought Nintendo's big hook was going to be for the successor to the GameCube, code-named Nintendo Revolution. The poll listed 10 separate input methods, ranging from the infamous gyroscope theory to the ambiguous "Squishy Feel" device. Over 15,000 IGN readers participated and the results were, at the very least, surprising.

At nearly 25 percent, it seems most readers who took the poll believe the Revolution will incorporate a DS-like touch screen. And while Nintendo has gone on record stating the DS offers a glimpse as to what to expect from the Revolution, it has also said the "revolutionary" aspect of the system will not be a DS-like dual screen controller.

Coming in at nearly 17 percent, the second largest section of readers believe the Nintendo Revolution will offer nothing new or revolutionary. This can be interpreted in a number of ways, of course. Either 2, 595 readers thought it was a funny option to vote for or they genuinely believe the Revolution will be anything but. Still, with an abundance of theories as to what Nintendo is hiding with its next-generation system, this reaction came as a surprise.

Gyroscopic control and a reconfigurable layout tied for third place with a 12.8 vote. Of all the theories buzzing around the Web these days, it looks like the inclusion of gyroscopic control is most viable, if only because Nintendo has used simple forms of the technology in previous efforts.

Of course, the mystery will be revealed soon enough, perhaps even in coming weeks if the latest batch of rumors are to be believed.
